General Conference October 2013

October 2013

Is there anything better than General Conference.  Julie decided to have a lunch on Sunday rather than a breakfast. It was nice, but I was sorely negligent in the picture taking department.

Chase and his friends came.

It was nice to have Kim here with us.

Changing times:  The Internet has truly changed things.
There is so much truth so readily available to so many more people.
I followed Conference on Twitter and posted some quotes.
There were memes available immediately after the speakers spoke.
These were some of my favorites:

President Holland's talk on depression was ground breaking and just what we needed to hear.

Adversity - Jazzmin

7 October 2013

As if Kari hasn't had enough trouble, he has lost the vision in his right eye and it looks like it will not be restored, his blood pressure and cholesterol levels are very bad.  Apparently it is due to stress. He is now on a very, very strict diet and stated walking up to six miles an evening, but it is working.

But on the 7th, Jazzmin was hit by a car as she ran across the street to come home. She is so loved and needed in that home, Kari felt he had to do whatever had to be done to save her.  They amputated her left hind leg.

It was a long recovery with complications, but it is amazing how well she is doing now.
The kids now call her Tripod, but she couldn't be more loved.

High School Memories - Senior Year

September-October 2013

I know I am prejudiced, but I think Spencer is one of the nicest people ever. I am so glad that the St. Johns live close by so I can see some of the things they are doing. High School is a time never to be forgotten and Spencer seems to have figured out how to make fabulous memories.

Instagram post:

Spencer is always so complimentary of his dates and they seem to have a really fun time.

Bridal Shower for Emily

28 September 2013

Julie and Melissa gave our beautiful Emily a bridal shower.
Others of us helped a little, but the marvel of it was Julie and Melissa.
Emily did not want the traditional wedding stuff, but she actually really liked the shower.

I loved the lemonade bar Judy Ezola provided.

Beautifully presented!

Shawna, Emily Mom

Judy, Nikell and Jeannine; Bryan's mother, sister and grandmother.

It was a great opportunity to meet and enjoy family & friends.

Lyndsey and Madi - best friends.

Emily got a Vitamix!

Julie has so many really good friends. It was so nice of them to come.

I was so glad that Chantel, Ciera, Cashaye and Analese came up from St. George.

Death of Our Apple Tree

24 September 2013

I was so disheartened at the loss of our beautiful ash tree in the front of our house so it came as an extra blow to find that our huge apple tree in our back yard was so old and heavy-laden that the branches were all breaking and we would have to have it taken out as well.

Wayne was so tired of picking up all those apples that he did not mind seeing it go.
The deer and the birds will miss the apples though.

A few hours and $750 later, the tree was gone and everything had been cleaned up.

On the bright side - boy what a view!

Chantel and Dave's Younger Boys

September 2013

I am so excited that Chantel had these pictures of the boys taken at the beginning of school. They turned out so well. It is great that they seem to get along so well with one another.  Chantel & Dave are marvelous to raise these boys with patience and much love.

Julie's Girls on Instagram

19 September 2014

I love Instagram.  It has been one of the best things to keep our family connected.  So many of the posts make me smile.  I love that Julie volunteers with her law firm to do United Way service.  Then she posted photos of her daughters on "Throw Back Thursday" (#tbthursday).  Such fun.

I love these girls so very much.

Settebello at Farmington Station

22 August 2013

We love to go to Farmington Station and eat at Settebello.  It is in a perfect location.
I'm excited! An Apple Store is going in just to the east of Settebello.
