I Can't Quit

I can't help it.
I love taking pictures of the tulips and blossoms on Temple Square.

This is my very favorite time of year and my favorite place to be in the spring.

I'm so lucky I am working here so I see the changes almost daily.

How can anyone think there is not a God who created these beautiful flowers.
Every time I look at their intricacy, variety and loveliness I am overwhelmed at the love He has for us to give us such joyful creations that truly lift my spirits. Even bad days are not so bad.

Lyndsey's Engaged to a Fabulous Guy

I think Ben Stevenson is amazing and I'm so glad he asked Lyndsey to marry him.  So is she. They make a beautiful couple and have every probability of raising a righteous, happy family. They met in a class at BYU. June 23rd is the day for their wedding in the Salt Lake Temple. Oh happy day!

Shawna & Jack Open Their Mission Call on 29 March 2012

Shawna & Jack opened their call at Michael's so they could use iChat to bring Kathy, Kristy and Mark into the conversation. They will be serving in the Montana Billings Mission as Member/Leader Support missionaries.  It is a perfect fit for them.  They will enter the MTC on April 30th.  Not much lead time.

22 March 2012 - City Creek Center

OH HOW I LOVE THIS PLACE!

This fountain is beautiful.
Truly spectacular!

I spent eight hours here on the 22nd, Opening Day.
Julie was there for the ribbon cutting with Presidents Monson, Eyring and Uchtdorf.
I'm sorry I missed that.  Salt Lake City has come alive.
It feels like Paris or New York.

This fountain in the center, by Nordstrom and Tiffany & Co., was designed by
the same company that built the fountains at the Bellagio - and the Gateway Olympic fountain.

I love the serenity as well as the excitement of the place.
I can't tell you how happy it makes me.
It is so good to have Nordstrom and Macy's back.
In addition, Tiffany is here, not that I will shop there much, but it certainly adds a touch of class.

The water ways are Salt Lake City tap water - comes from the same water we drink.
But it comes from the same watershed as City Creek does.
The foliage and plants in the creek were brought down from City Creek.
The pond by the south entrance to Macy's is stocked with fish.

So many people were there on opening day, but it is so big (23 acres) it didn't seem crowded.

A wonderful fireplace with cushioned chairs for relaxation.  Awesome!

We waited five years for this and endured much construction.
It truly was worth the wait.
Here is the creek right by Eagle Gate Tower where I used to work.
Across the street is the Church Administration Building and the
Church Office Building where I am a Church-service missionary now.

This huge waterfall is right by the Food Court and by my Eagle Gate Tower.

There was live music everywhere.

And Alex Boye was singing at Deseret Book.

Cashaye - a New Grandchild

Miguel took all of the missionary lessons and was baptized by Mason on 17 March 2012.
He is a very kind person and truly loves Analese.
I hope he will totally embrace the gospel for it is his path to success and happiness.

 .
On the 18th of March Miguel was confirmed and Analese was given
a name and a blessing by Dave.
So very nice.

Here is the beautiful Analese.

Chantel and Dave adopted Cashaye on 19 March 2012.
She had been a foster daughter previously but now she is a part of our family.

This & That & Children of My Heart

March 3rd:  HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLIE - YOU DARLING TWO-YEAR OLD.

Melissa really outdid herself.  I have never seen a birthday party like it.  The hours of planning and execution must have been phenomenal.  Melissa is one of a kind - truly exceptional and I am so happy to have her as my granddaughter and Ellie as my great-granddaughter.  It was a really fun time for all.

Lauren and Emily were great and Emily took adorable photos with the aid of some props.

Ellie blows out her candles - both of them.
I really didn't have good pictures because I didn't bring my good cameras.

13 March 2012
I was so proud of Spencer.
He has really good friends, but he was the only one of them who went to the
Devotional at the High School.
Doesn't he look great!

On the 16th of March Austin played in a Lacrosse Tournament in Salt Lake.
A perfect opportunity to go watch him.

#42 and he loves the game.

Doreen, Kim, Lyndsey and Hayley were there braving the cold to see Austin.

On March 21st, all of Cherie's family, Kim and us went to dinner to celebrate Hayden being chosen
for the soccer ODP (Olympic Development Program). He is the goalie and a really good one.

Paige made a science project out of Jello and Hayden ate most of it afterwards on March 27th.

Oh how I love these people.

Zack Receives the Aaronic Priesthood on 19 Feb 2012

We went to Chantel's because Zack was being ordained a Deacon.
This is the first time Dave was able to ordain one of Chantel's sons.  Very good.
He is a fun, nice young man.

While there we got to meet and get better acquainted with Cashaye, Miguel and their baby, Analese.

Katelyn's Prom 11 Feb 2012

I loved being there when Katelyn went to her prom.  Boy did it bring back memories of when my girls were in high school.  Katelyn is beautiful and the perfect example of what a young woman should be.

Both of these young people have been taught well by their parents.
