It was an enriching experience for me to get to know Rick well when I worked in the Church-service Missionary Program office. I have know him for years and years, but never very well. He was such an honorable man, wise, and a great leader. He passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 after fighting a blood disease for a very long time. Like Douglas J., his brother, he felt chocolate was important, he had a great sense of humor and he was dedicated to serving others. It is with great sadness that I think of his passing.

New Beginnings with Paige
It was really nice going with Paige to her ward's Young Women New Beginnings tea party.
I was impressed that she was asked "spur-of-the-moment" to lead the singing. She did so well.

Lunch with Julie
Wayne and I met Julie for lunch at Eva's Bakery, a little French bakery on Main Street in Salt Lake. It was shortly after the terrorist attack on the publishing company, Charlie Hebdo, in Paris, thus the sign: "Je Suis Charlie". It was delightful being with Julie. In addition, it was such a treat for me to be in Salt Lake City again.
