Wahoo! Lyndsey's Engaged

Oh how I love this beautiful girl.  I am thrilled that she has now become engaged to a man who knows her, understands her, and is patient, kind and loving.  Such a supportive encouraging, capable person Francesco Troccoli is.  Lyndsey is even learning a bit of Italian to become more immersed in his culture and background.  I wish them all the happiness in the world.

After requesting and receiving Steven's blessing, Francesco proposed to Lyndsey in Mexico.

They are both super smart.  

They met at their place of employment - my favorite store:  the Apple Store.

Mitzi - Our Sweet Mitzi

It is so hard to lose a beloved pet.  Mitzi was almost 14 years old and she loved us - even though she did not much like other people.  She was a rescue kitty with the most beautiful blue eyes ever.  It was hard to say good-bye today.

Emily & Jeremy Leger took care of Mitzi as well as our home while we served our mission in Wales.

Their two-year-old son, Mason, was the only child Mitzi truly loved.

She always knew when I was coming home and she would look for me when I was gone.

Do you think she knew they were related?

I wasn't thrilled when she drank my water.

Wayne wasn't thrilled when she sat in his pillows.

Relda Cable Predmore

Wayne's sister, Relda, passed away on February 10th. She was a wonderful person and I am sure she is happy to be reunited with her husband, Everett "Skip" Predmore.  The two of them brought much joy to our family and we have such fond memories of them, especially during the time they lived in Mapleton, Utah.  Skip was the Mayor there for a couple of terms.  She was an amazing cook.

Relda, on the left, was a counselor to my mother, Dawn in the center, in the Relief Society Presidency in the Arlington Ward, Virginia.  They were good friends and they arranged our marriage before we ever met. 

Relda and Skip represented Wayne's parents at our wedding reception in Arlington, Virginia in 1962.

Relda and Skip only had one child to raise, Durinda, and they enjoyed many years of laughter and shopping together.  

Relda and Wayne were always the best of friends.

We enjoyed every experience we had with her through the years. 

Growing old is not for sissies.

We hated to lose her, but hope she is now at peace. 

Even on solemn occasions it is good to be with our daughters.

I'm sure Cherie greeted Relda with open arms and big hugs.

Her funeral was in Mapleton on February 19th and the burial was in the 

Mapleton Cemetery on the 20th by her husband and close to her parents.

Ollivander - Parker

Isn't this the cutest puppy.  Steven gave him to Kim and Ollie has stolen her heart.  She will never forget Tucker and a new puppy can never replace him, but Ollie is adorable and truly loved.

Mason as Varsity Referee

Mason has been working hard to become a respected official at basketball games (and football).  He has worked with some amazing officials who have mentored him.  On Friday night he was hired to referee his first varsity game at Morgan High School in a game against Judge Memorial - the last game of the season. Morgan won.

Mason has been exceptional, moving up in the officiating ranks far faster than most.  Tom, Julie, Wayne and I drove to the game.  More impressively, Chantel, Dave and Tanner came up from St. George to watch him.  He has a lot of family support and it was fun to be together.  Mason was most appreciative.  After the game we had delicious burgers at J's.

Lauren & Eric Engagement Party

We felt so fortunate to have been invited to Lauren & Eric's engagement party.  It was held at the Braza Grill in Murray.  There were about 40 guests.  It was so much fun seeing family members and getting acquainted with some of their dear friends.  I especially enjoyed meeting Lynn and Jeff, Eric's parents, who came up from San Antonio, Texas.  They are truly nice and fun.  I guess that is one of the reasons Eric is so nice.  Lauren is such a loving, joyous person.  I wish the two of them much happiness.
