Book of Mormon Challenge

1 January 2014

Someone (I think in Arizona) started the BOFM365 Challenge on InstaGram.  I accepted.

As I am way behind in my blogging, I can tell you now (23 August 2014) that this is one of the best things I have ever done. I have read the Book of Mormon every single day since the start of our mission, reading it several times every year, but this read has brought new insights and experiences to me. It is easy to do, just a few verses every day and we will finish at the end of the year.  There is a thought question regarding the scriptures we are reading every day. The richness has come from reading not only the scriptures but the comments from other followers.  They are heart-felt and varied and spiritually significant.  They are also so practical.  Thanks BOFM365 Challenge.  Check it out.

Christmas Break Trip to Kim & Steven's

28-31 December 2013

Between Christmas and New Year's we went to St. George and then on the Las Vegas.  Julie and Tom let us stay with her at their condo.  Dane and Stacy and family were also there, so we had a fun time. Chantel was in St. George from Rolla, Missouri taking care of her real estate business. There was a condo for sale right by Julie's but overlooking the Bloomington golf course.  Chantel could let us look at it.  This condo took our breath away.  So beautiful, with such great views.

This made us seriously consider where we really want to live.
If only we could buy the condo and keep our home in Bountiful.
Bountiful in the summer and St. George in the winter sounds perfect.

Kim and Lyndsey came up and we had a nice lunch at 25 Main.
I love the grounds by Zions Bank.  We had a great time at an antiques store as well.

Kim, Julie and Lyndsey.

Julie & Tom had a puzzle out.
I always love doing a puzzle after Christmas.
This one was hard and Dane and Chase exhibited their superior puzzling skills.

We visited the offices of Markel Realty Group.
Chantel and her assistant.

Of course Chase, Chantel, Zack and Julie had to have a planking contest.

We drove on down to Kim & Steven's when Kim and Lyndsey went home.
It was nice to spend some time with them.

Back to St. George, then home.

Christmas Day 2013

25 December 2013

Every Christmas Day is a whirlwind of fun for us as we visit several homes and share the love.

We started early at the St. John's:

Paige helped Jazzmin open her presents.

Hayden, Spencer and Kari did well.
I was amazed at how well Santa did, even without Cherie's guidance.

A highlight today was a video call with Katelyn.  Love that girl so much.

Next to Tom & Julie's with a bonus this year as Jeff & Melissa are living there for a couple of months during their home remodel:

Eloise Dawn Mott

Melissa actually took real pictures.
Love her necklace from Tiffany.

Jeff is such a good Dad.
The Mott family added to the fun as they came and joined us in the festivities.

Julie is following our family tradition.
If you stay overnight, you get a stocking filled by Santa.
I was so happy that Lauren is still using the stocking I made for her.

Lauren brought Ulysses with her, of course.
Sweet Lexus always cuddles with Julie.
Jeff's parents are Susan & Jack Marietta and Julie & Roger Mott

Madeline Jane Mott

Now to our house to open presents:

Tom and Julie looked at the photo book of past Christmases.

I love the Christmas stockings Mom made for our daughters.

Beautiful Melissa.

Paige always looks so cute. I love teens in braces.

The year of the Vitamix.

The Dad always passes out the presents.

Spencer, Hayden and Kari - make me so very happy.

To end the day we went to Mom's. Love seeing the family there, I just wish more came like they have done in the past.  I especially miss seeing Karl's girls.

Karl, Trinka and Chad

Mark and Michelle have such a cute family.
Brighton, McKinley and Denali with their new dolls.

Christmas Eve at Julie & Tom's

24 December 2013

We had a casual, really fun Christmas Eve at Julie & Tom's.  Pizza was the main dish, lots of dogs joined the celebration, and the Christmas story acted out by the little ones was adorable.  What could be better.  I am now going to post way too many pictures, but I love pictures.
