Commemoration Dinner

It meant a lot to me to be invited to the commemoration dinner in celebration
of Cherie.  She has the BEST family.  It was good to have Katelyn with us.

February 2015 Happenings

Spencer is doing such a great job on his mission in a difficult environment.

This plaque is the motto Seth's mission president had for his missionaries.
I think of it often and it encourages me.  I know it is what Spencer is doing.

Emily goes to so much trouble to make the Youth Conservatory
Monster Concert
a huge success.  It was good to be there and I loved the ride up and back with Julie.

Julie always knows how to make a house, whether big or small, a charming home.
8 February 2015

We are all jealous of her chalkboard of the recipe for the cookies
Mom made for us and I made for my girls.  DeLiCiouS!

I went to RootsTech this year and that allowed me to be in Salt Lake three days.
I learned so much, there were so many people, and I even saw some celebrities.
It was illuminating.

It was fun to go to lunch with Kim and her family to celebrate Relda's birthday.

Every time we go down south we have a great time.  Being with family is the very best.

On the 28th Kari posted this lovely picture of our dear Cherie.
Sometimes it seems so long ago that she passed and other times not so much.
We also miss her every day and love the influence she had and still has on all of us.

Madi on Instagram

Cutest little one ever.
She loves her lamb-ie so much it is almost worn out.

Richard Donald Parry

It was an enriching experience for me to get to know Rick well when I worked in the Church-service Missionary Program office.  I have know him for years and years, but never very well.  He was such an honorable man, wise, and a great leader.  He passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 after fighting a blood disease for a very long time.  Like Douglas J., his brother, he felt chocolate was important, he had a great sense of humor and he was dedicated to serving others.  It is with great sadness that I think of his passing.

New Beginnings with Paige

It was really nice going with Paige to her ward's Young Women New Beginnings tea party.
I was impressed that she was asked "spur-of-the-moment" to lead the singing.  She did so well.

Lunch with Julie

Wayne and I met Julie for lunch at Eva's Bakery, a little French bakery on Main Street in Salt Lake. It was shortly after the terrorist attack on the publishing company, Charlie Hebdo, in Paris, thus the sign:  "Je Suis Charlie".  It was delightful being with Julie.  In addition, it was such a treat for me to be in Salt Lake City again.

New Year's Eve Party at Julie & Tom's

These two have a special bond.

Julie's new kitchen works out so well.

Kids galore.  Stacy & Dane with their three and Melissa & Jeff with their two.
They really enjoy each other.

I was so glad that Steven and Kim came up.

Everyone helped with the food.  And of course we all took pictures.

Do you think they like their Grandpa?

I love watching Ellie, Tess and Madi playing together.

Kim was amazing!
She brought so many really fun, simple games everyone could play.

Julie, Madi and Kim are watching Tanner and Chase.

Chase, Chantel and Steven are competing here.

Can Lyndsey and Ciera keep the feather afloat?

I was glad that Gryffin came too.

Chantel and Lyndsey enjoyed the fire.

Juan, Zack, Ciera and Seth were mellow, but enjoyed the evening too.

Griffin knows how to beg better than any dog I've ever seen.  So cute!
