City Creek Center

I can't help it.  I am fascinated with the new City Creek Center.
I just think should have spelled it City Creek Centre.

The fountains are a delight.

I love these lights and artwork in Nordstrom's.

Blast from the Past - 1953

1953 - Schwetzingen, Germany
Dad, Mom, Claudine, Dick, Shawna, Karl
This is how our family looked shortly before we returned to the United States
after 2 1/2 years in Germany. I loved living there and I especially loved our house.

Here we are with my dear German friend, Heidi Tienhaus.
We are standing at the front gate of our home.

This picture was taken shortly after we came back to the United States in 1953.
This is Mom's brother and his family.
Mark, Jeanie, Rula, Linda, Rosalie, Sharon, Marla
Even Granma Turner's yellow rose bush is in this picture.

Shawna & Jack - Missionaries

Montana was the perfect place for Shawna and Jack to go on a mission.  The entered the MTC on the 30th of April 2012 headed for the Montana Billings Mission as member support missionaries. Jack was in his element.  And Shawna was able to give great support and caring to the people they contacted.

Jack was able to help with the Shawna branding.

Shawna was able to help with her amazing quilting skills.
She also shared her excellent cooking with people in the area.

It was frightening and disappointing when they learned that Jack had developed a brain tumor. He was taken to Billings where surgery was performed, then when he was strong enough they returned home on the 8th of September 2012.  Their family was so helpful and supportive.  Though their mission had to be cut short, the good they did while in Montana will live on long after their return home.

St. John's as Guests for Sunday Dinner

Spencer St. John

Katelyn, Paige and Hayden St. John

Paige and Cherie enjoying a bit of Hot Chocolate

Because Cherie does not feel very well after having so many chemo treatments and surgeries, we have them over for Sunday dinner as often as possible. It is so much fun spending time with the St. John's and I love seeing how well her children are doing.

Brooke Wilcox came one time and they enjoyed my hammock.

Kim has come every time Cherie has a major procedure.
She provides more comfort to Cherie than any of the rest of us has the ability to do.

All-Star Game

On June 2nd Chantel came up to watch Mason play in the State All-Star game. It was fun to be with her and Tanner. The game was a big deal and it is awesome that Mason was chosen from Dixie High School for this game. The flag ceremony at the beginning of the game was presented by Airmen from Hill Air Force Base. Mason was #2 - go batter, batter.  It was fun to be with Chantel.

Sunny Cherie St. John

We had Julie & Tom come over so they could get our birthday presents for her.
They just got back from Washington, D.C. and Virginia.

Kari's brother and sister-in-law, Jamie and Chalis, decided to name their baby girl child after Cherie. Cherie had always loved and accepted Jamie, no matter what.  Jamie is inactive so he decided to have Kari give their precious little girl a name and a blessing.  I went down to Orem with Kari and the kids.  It was all quite nice and was done under the direction of the bishop who also came.

Jamie, Chalis and Sunny were very pleased with the way this special day went.

Emily's Master's Recital

She did it!
Emily is finishing her Master's Degree in Piano performance.
Emily has always amazed me and we are incredibly proud of her dedication, ability and passion.
